Every year on 2nd weekend of December, Utrecht’s cosiest Winter Market takes place in and around Molen de Ster. With more than 45 stalls filled with the nicest local and unique products, this is the ideal market for gifts that are nice to give during the holidays. For two days, you can come and enjoy live music, mulled wine, winter snacks and fun at this unique location.
At this Christmas market every year, we select the best local makers with the most beautiful products that are fun to give during the holidays. You’ll find a nice gift for everyone here. Unique jewellery, handmade children’s clothes and toys, cool T-shirts, posters, Christmas cards, fun interior products and much more!
On Sundays, we will expand the market inside and there will be even more stalls to visit.
There will be different makers at the market every day. So feel free to come and shop for two days!
At the market you will find several stalls with food and drinks. While shopping, warm up with a spicy mulled wine or hot chocolate with whipped cream. Enjoy the freshly baked mini Dutch pancakes (poffertjes), Dutch pea soup and other winter snacks.
To enhance the Christmas atmosphere during the cosy market, every year we have several live performances. Utrecht musicians and choirs sing the most beautiful Christmas songs.
This year, we have a performance by Malaika with Christmas songs from all over the world. Of course, the Dickens choir Mizzelto will be there again. On Sunday, Kristel Vercraeye will sing the most atmospheric Christmas classics and we will close the market with the a capella choir Studio Voices.
On Saturday, you can take free guided tours of the mill all day. Join one of our tour guides on the mill and learn how wood is still cut on wind energy. From the 2nd floor, you have a great view of the cosy Christmas market in the yard.
Inside the Sawmill, you can pick up a ticket for one of the guided tours on the day.
A guided tour is free, donations are appreciated.
